Platform clear after fatal stabbing at SEPTA station in Center City

One man has died after being stabbed multiple times on a train platform in SEPTA station.

The incident happened early Thursday morning just after 3 a.m. at Jefferson Station at 10th and Filbert Streets in Center City.

Investigators arrived at the scene on platform 1B and rushed the victim to Jefferson hospital. At 4:15 a.m. he was pronounced dead. There was no ID found on the victim.

Officials say the victim was stabbed multiple times in his chest, neck, torso and arms. No knife was found at the scene so the suspect is most likely still armed

Police describe the suspect as a man wearing a white shirt, blue jeans, with red high tops.

The attack was caught on surveillance camera but police have not released it.

Police have cleared the scene and normal boarding has resumed for all Regional Rail trains at Jefferson Station.
