Police: 3 dead after attempted robbery turns into gunfight inside home

Three men have died after Philadelphia police say an attempted robbery turned into a gunfight inside a Frankford home Thursday night.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. at a home on the 5100 block of Saul Street.

Police say Chris Young, 31, went to the home with the intent of committing a robbery during a drug deal and opened fire on the occupants inside the house.

Two men inside the home were fatally struck by gunfire, but at least one of the men returned fire, striking Young. After the shootout, responding officers found Young in the street nearby with cash and powder cocaine on the ground near him.

Young was taken to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police have identified the two victims as 31-year-old Terrance Gaddy, who lived inside the home, and Juan Rodriguez, 30.

Gaddy's 13-year-old son, who was upstairs with two women and a young child at the time of the incident, called police following the incident.
