Police: Del. carjacking suspect strikes, kills 2 outside casino

NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Two senior citizens from New Jersey have died after their car was hit outside a casino by a driver wanted in a carjacking.

Delaware State Police said Sunday that a 77-year-old man and a 92-year-old woman from Mantua, New Jersey were leaving the Delaware Park casino in Newark Saturday at 5 p.m.

The Mercury Grand Marquis driven by the 77-year-old man was then struck by a Nissan Altima driven by 33-year-old Stephen R. Goodman of Wilmington.

Police say Goodman was wanted for carjacking the Nissan earlier Saturday.

State police say Goodman hit the Grand Marquis head on.

The 77-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 92-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Goodman, who also suffered serious injuries, is facing charges including vehicular homicide and carjacking.
