Police identify suspect in deadly SEPTA station stabbing

Police have released the identity of the man they believe is responsible for a fatal stabbing at a SEPTA station on Thursday morning.

Charles Dallas D. Green, 50, was taken into custody by police at a homeless shelter on the 1600 block of JFK Boulevard at approximately 8 a.m.

Police have charged Green with murder, robbery and possession of an instrument of crime.

Officials say the stabbing took place at the Broad and Spruce SEPTA Station around 6:30 a.m on Thursday. When officers arrived they found a bloody crime scene and a man on the sidewalk.

The victim was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly before 8 a.m.
