Police investigate home invasion and robbery in Tredyffrin Township

TREDYFFRIN, Pa. (WTXF) Police are investigating a home invasion and robbery in Tredyffrin Township.

Police say a on Saturday, March 12 th shortly after 1 a.m. officers responded to Crestline Road in the Strafford section of Tredyffrin Township for a report of a home invasion/robbery.

According to police, the resident awoke to an unidentified male wearing a Halloween type mask standing in her bedroom at the foot of her bed. Police say the suspect bound the victim with duct tape and told the victim, 'Be quiet and you won't be hurt.'

The suspect ransacked the residence, finding the victim's Wells Fargo ATM card and the victim's vehicle keys, according to police.

Police describe the man as being approximately 5'10" tall, weighing 180 lbs. with broad shoulders, and wearing a Halloween mask with a bulbous nose and gloves. Police say the man intimidated the victim by displaying a stun gun type of electronic restraint device, which caused the victim, when asked, to provide the personal identification number (PIN) to the Wells Fargo Bank card found by the man earlier.

According to police, the man left the victim bound with duct tape, exiting the residence with jewelry, a radio and the Victim's automobile. Investigators say the unknown man drove to the Wells Fargo ATM, approximately 2 tenths of a mile from the victim's residence, and used the victim's ATM card. According to authorities, once the man left the residence, the victim managed to get free from the duct tape and called 911.

Police did locate and recover the victim's vehicle at the Strafford Train Station.
