Police investigate two shootings on same block in Fairhill
PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Philadelphia police say they are investigating two shootings on the same block in the city's Fairhill neighborhood.
One shooting occurred around 8:20 a.m. on the 100 block of West Gurney Street.
Police say a 26-year-old man was shot twice, in the neck and head. He was rushed to the hospital by responding officers and was pronounced dead a short time later.
A 22-year-old man was also struck in the nose by gunfire. He was taken to the hospital in a private car and was listed in stable condition.
Just hours earlier around 11:40 Monday night and feet away another man was sprayed with bullets --hit 8 times--and is in critical condition at Temple University Hospital.
Police are investigating whether these shootings are drug-related and whether the shooting Tuesday morning was in retaliation for Monday night's. On Tuesday, officers collected bags of evidence as they try to piece it all together.
Investigators have not yet recovered any weapons and no arrests have been made.
