Police officer posts response after being asked to remove "In God We Trust" from patrol units

CHILDRESS, TX (WTXF) - A Facebook post featuring a letter from a police officer to a member of the Freedom From Religion Foundation is going viral.

Chief Adrian Garcia posted a copy of the letter he sent back to the member, named Annie, after he received a request from her organization which he claimed demanded they "remove the 'In God we trust' off our patrol units."

Since it was posted just yesterday, the post has already been shared more than 47,000 times and received more than 56,000 likes.

Also, the post has amassed more than 5,000 comments applauding the chief for his stance.
