Police search for suspect in deadly highway shooting

New Jersey State Police are looking for the person responsible for a shooting death on State Highway 42.

The incident happened at 2:30 A.M. Saturday morning in Camden County. According to police, troopers at the Bellmawr Station responded to a report of a car off the roadway on State Highway 42 near exit 14.

After investigating, police found that the victim was driving southbound on the highway in a white Ford Fusion when an unknown car pulled alongside and shot several rounds into the victim's car. The victim then crashed towards the right side of the road.

The victim was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he was pronounded dead. Police have not yet released the victim's identity.
