Santa makes virtual visits to Shriner's Hospital patients

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (WTXF) - Santa is pulling out all the stops ahead of Christmas for children right here in Philadelphia.

Wednesday patients at Shiners Hospital had a chance to speak one on one with the big man himself!

For the last five years Santa has been beamed over the hospital's internet all the way from the North Pole.

His virtual visits make it possible for the kids to have a conversation with Santa as if they were in the same room.

Urianna Acosta will be at the hospital until March, but this technology gives her the chance to tell Santa everything she would like for Christmas this year.

"He knew my name which is cool and he told me I am on the nice list which is awesome because now I know I will get what I want," Urianna said.

Philadelphia was just one of Santa's virtual stops.

Yesterday he also linked up with four other Shriners Hospitals across the country.
