Sketch released of Concord Township bank robbery suspect

Police released a sketch of a man wanted for holding up a bank with a fake bomb in Delaware County.

It was a typical Tuesday afternoon at the Polish Lounge Nail Salon on Baltimore Pike in Concord Township when a state trooper walked in and made an urgent announcement.

"The cops came in and told us not to leave," one salon employee told FOX 29.

"The bomb squads coming. There was a robbery and something about a silver Pontiac," another employee said.

The reason for the lockdown was an armed suspect just walked into the Malvern Federal Savings Bank just across the parking lot, according to police. Troopers say he showed the tellers a gun and demanded money. Investigators say he also placed a tube with some wires attached to it on the counter and said it was a bomb.

The warning and word of a possible explosive device a hundred feet away rattled employees at the nail salon and Smoothie King next door.

The bomb squad later determined that while the device looked like the real deal it was a hoax. State police say the suspect escaped in a four door, silver Pontiac.

According to police, the suspect escaped with an undetermined amount of cash. Troopers are reviewing surveillance video from the bank and nearby stores.

No arrests have been made and the getaway vehicle has not been recovered.
