Suspect in deadly Radnor hit and run surrenders to police

A man police say was behind the wheel of an SUV that struck and killed a man in a hit and run in Radnor has surrendered to police.

The incident happened back on March 6 when police say 69-year-old Fred Gitterman was crossing the 500 block of Lancaster Avenue in Wayne.

Police say Gitterman was struck and killed by a white SUV, that was being operated by 30-year-old Kevin Gaughan. Police say the vehicle was later shown on surveillance camera as it sped off. Police believe Gitterman may have been going to or leaving a nearby restaurant when he was hit.

Authorities had previously announced a $10,000 reward had been offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the driver.
