Suspect sought in North Philadelphia mini market robbery

Police are searching for a man who they say committed a commercial robbery in North Philadelphia.

The incident happened on Thursday night around 7:30 at the Edith Mini Market on 401 West Cumberland Street.

An unknown man can be seen in the surveillance video entering the market and approaching the counter wearing a mask.

Police say the employee working was a 50-year-old woman and asked the man to remove his mask. When she asked, the suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded her to give him the money from the cash register.

After taking an unknown amount of money, the suspect fled the suspect fled the store and was last seen east on Cumberland Street.
