Tampon tax protesters forgo pads and tampons during period
LONDON, UK (WTXF) - A demonstration aimed to protest the taxation of tampons and maxi pads as "luxury items" in the UK took place on Friday.
A group of protesters gathered outside the Houses of Parliament in London to make their message heard.
One of these protesters, Charlie Edge, wrote on Facebook about her experience. She said that she waited until she started her period, then "forgoing tampons and pads," staged her protest outside Parliament in a pair of light trousers.
