Volunteers celebrate Philadelphia parks

Love Your Park Week kicked off in parks all over Philadelphia Saturday.

Volunteers gathered across Philadelphia's plentiful green spaces in an effort to plant trees, mulch gardens, plant flowers and pick up trash.

The main event was held in Olney's Fisher Park, where Mayor Jim Kenney and other city officials joined with the volunteers for the outdoor service projects.

Other events are taking place across Philadelphia parks all week long. Scheduled at various locations are bird walks, nature photography, outdoor yoga, kid-friendly community festivals, among other things.
