WATCH: Christmas ad with surprise twist goes viral

WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - A tear-jerking commercial for German grocer Edeka is going viral because of a surprise twist ending.

The ad starts with a daughter calling her father to tell him that she will not be able to make it for Christmas this year.

The father - visibly disappointed -- is seen eating at a table by himself.

The ad then shows his children receiving obituaries in the mail, but there was a surprise when the entire family gathered at his home.
