ESKIN: Two Eagles stars skip voluntary camp, why?

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) It amazes me at times what players with contracts think they can accomplish by not attending the Eagles mini camp. We do know they are voluntary but two players are still not here.

Let's start with the most ridiculous situation. Defensive end Fletcher Cox will accomplish nothing by not being at camp. He wants a long term deal and he will get it. I have been told by 2 very good sources he has been offered a multi year deal that would pay him over 60 million guaranteed. Yes, that's over 60 mil. The entire deal would be for over 90 million. If Cox is not here for the mandatory camp in early June he will be fined. And remember he has one year remaining and whatever a bigger problem is. The Eagles can actually have his rights for 3 years if they so choose with what's called a Franchise Tag.

When will the players stop listening to the agents who are really only out for themselves. Fletcher Cox needs to get to know a new defense with a new head coach and defensive coordinator. This is a power play that wont accomplish a thing. NOT A THING!

In the case of Darren Sproles, he actually has spoken to his head and said he will be back. Not a big deal.

But my big question. What's wrong or not good enough with the 60 million plus that Fletcher Cox would be guaranteed? Nothing. Get you rear end into camp.
