Gritty nails half-court shot at Rutgers game

(WTXF) - Is there anything Gritty can't do?

The once scoffed, now beloved mascot stunned the Louis Brown Athletic Center at Rutgers University Friday night when he sunk a half-court shot during halftime.

"GRITTY JUST HIT A HALF COURT SHOT," one Twitter user posted. "I REPEAT GRITTY JUST HIT A HALF COURT SHOT."

The Twittersphere expressed its collective awe at the mascot's achievement.

"How...how do you hit a half court shot in that suit," said one user.

"Is....is Gritty the best thing in sports right now?" said another.

The answer to the latter, of course, is a resounding yes.
