Storms will move offshore overnight a lead to a pleasant summer weekend across the region with sunny skies and temperatures in the low-to-mid 80s.

Damaging thunderstorms are possible in our area Thursday afternoon and evening.

The United States' record-high dew point may have been tied in Iowa earlier this week, and corn fields are to blame.

Pockets of rainfall with some rumbles of thunder and flashes of lightning is likely Thursday throughout 9 p.m. An isolated tornado can't be ruled out.

It'll be another hot day even down the shore as the heat wave continues. 

Once we get through what could be yet another heatwave, we could be getting an early taste of September weather in the middle of summer!
