Excessive Heat Warning in effect Wednesday-Friday
PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) An excessive heat warning went into effect Wednesday, and will last through Friday with temperatures in the 90s each afternoon.
This is our second heat wave with the first one being in May. Heat and humidity will become oppressive Wednesday through Saturday.
Heat indexes will lead to feels-like temps in the triple digits.
Pop up thunderstorms are possible both Thursday and Fridays afternoon.
On Wednesday, it will feel like 101 degrees in Philadelphia and 102 degrees in Wilmington. On Thursday, temperatures will feel between 100-105 degrees before pop-up storms move in Thursday afternoon. On Friday, we will still have oppressive heat in the I-95 Corridor with temperatures feeling between 100-105 degrees.
The impact of the heat could be problematic for individuals with health issues, especially the elderly.
There will be no relief until Sunday.
