1 teen killed, another injured in Point Breeze triple shooting
PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - A 15-year-old boy has died after police say he was one of three people shot in Point Breeze Thursday night.
Police say a gunfight erupted on the 1200 block of South 15th Street around 7:30 p.m.
As many as three dozen shell casings were found at the scene, and investigators say all three of the victims were target in the shootings.
The 15-year-old victim was shot six times and was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. A 16-year-old boy was also shot once in the side and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
A third victim, 20, is in stable condition after he was shot in the leg.
Moments after the shooting, a second shooting occurred less than a block away.
Police say they are looking for at least three suspects who got out of a white hatchback before opening fire. The investigation is ongoing.
Officials say 2018 has been one of the worst years for teenage violence in Philadelphia. FOX 29 reached out to Mayor Jim Kenney for comment in the wake of another teenager being killed overnight. His statement is below:
