2 guards shot, wounded at after-hours club in Kensington

KENSINGTON (WTXF) - Authorities say a dispute at an after-hours club in Kensington ended with two security guards being shot and wounded.

It happened around 5 a.m. at VIP Afterhours Night Club on the 3500 block of I Street.

Four men who allegedly had "caused a commotion" inside the club were escorted out by security guards. When the men refused to leave the front of the club, authorities say the guards walked the group to their cars and physically put them into their vehicles.

One of the men then pulled out a gun and started firing several shots. Both guards, ages 27 and 28, were hit by bullets, but their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Authorities say the men fled the scene after the shooting in a green GMC Envoy and remain at large.

The guards' names and further details about the shooting have not been disclosed.
