6-year-old girl drowns at hotel pool in Wildwood

WILDWOOD, N.J. (WTXF) - Authorities say a child has drowned in a hotel pool in Wildwood.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Police say they received multiple 911 calls for a drowning in the pool at the Nantucket Inn and Suites on Ocean Avenue.

When officers arrived on scene, they say guests at the hotel had already removed the unresponsive 6-year-old from the water and were conducting CPR.

The victim was taken to Cape Regional Medical Center where she passed away several hours later.

According to police, the child was on vacation with several family members from Philadelphia when she went in the deep end of the pool.
