ACCT Philly holding 'Pay-What-You-Wish' special for dogs over 35 pounds

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Dog kennels at Philadelphia's Animal Care and Control Team (ACCT) are at capacity, so the shelter is on a mission to find forever homes or fosters for 50 dogs in 72 hours.

To help make it happen, the shelter is holding a "Philly Special" pay-what-you-wish adoption event this weekend for dogs weighing over 35 pounds.

So far this September, ACCT has taken in 547 dogs. Despite its best efforts, more dogs are coming into ACCT than are going to forever homes.

The event runs through Sunday, Sept. 30 at the locations listed below:
