All clear given after device causes evacuation at Center City firehouse

CENTER CITY (WTXF) - A firehouse in Center City was evacuated following the discovery of a suspicious device.

Officers responded to the call at the firehouse near 21 st and Market Streets around 2:28 p.m.

Police say the device consisted of PVC pipes, with wires and tape found on the outside, but appears to have been construction material that was dropped by a passing bicyclist.
