Armed robber strikes restaurant, late Christmas eve

Police are looking for the armed robber who struck a Juniata Park restaurant before employees went home for Christmas.

It happened just after 12:30am Sunday at Texas Chicken and Burgers, in the 3900 block of Kensington Avenue.

Police say the robber walked inside and "approached an employee, a 19 year-old female, who was at the front counter, demanding her to open the cash register drawer."

The worker with the gun pointed at her did what the robber said. She gave him money. Police did not say how much he got.

He did get away heading south on Kensington Avenue.

Luckily, no injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as about 30 years old and 6 feet tall. He had a goatee, and was wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans, a black knit hat, and he was armed with that handgun.
