Armed Robbery Suspect Sought in Olney

Police in Philadelphia are looking to locate a suspect in connection with a robbery in Olney last month.

The incident occurred back on August 25 th around 8:09 p.m. at the Papy Deli on the 5000 block of North 9 th Street.

Police say a 23-year-old employee was working behind the register when an unknown male entered the deli, placing an order before eventually leaving the store.

About a half an hour later, the suspect returned to pick up his order. While doing so, he waited a short time for the store to empty, then drew a gun and moved behind the counter.

Police say he began demanding money from the register while pointing the weapon at the employee. The employee complied and handed over an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect the fled the store on foot and was last seen heading south on 9 th Street.

No injuries were reported during the incident.

The suspect has been described as a 20-year-old black male, 5'10" with a thin build, light goatee, and armed with a handgun.
