Authorities Search for Suspect in Attempted Bank Robbery
Wyncote, Pa. (WTXF) Authorities say they are searching to identify and locate a suspect in connection with a attempted robbery of a Wells Fargo Bank branch on West Cheltenham Avenue in Wyncote, Montgomery County/
According to authorities, on January 7th, a man entered the bank, showed a teller a demand note and black plastic bag, then made a verbal demand for money. Investigators say the teller drew bank colleagues' attention to the robbery attempt, the man grabbed the note and bag and fled. He was last seen running across Cheltenham Avenue, toward Ogontz Avenue, police say.
Authorities describe the suspect as a black male in his late 20s to mid-30s, thin build. He wore a dark-colored jacket, hooded sweatshirt, and jeans; and a dark-colored knit cap with a red stripe. He also had on Nike Air Max sneakers, and dark-colored sunglasses - possibly with burgundy-tinted lenses.
The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, according to investigators.
