Authorities: Temple University student found dead in off-campus apartment
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (WTXF) - A Temple student was found unresponsive by paramedics in his off-campus apartment Saturday morning, December 2.
According to police, a friend of James Orlando found him a little before 7 a.m. having trouble breathing. 911 was called. Mr. Orlando then became unresponsive. Philadelphia police, paramedics and Temple police all responded to the 911 call.
Mr. Orlando was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of death is unknown. The Philadelphia Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause. Foul play was not suspected.
James Orlando was a 20-year-old third year Temple business student. Temple University released this statement:
We are extremely saddened by the passing of James Orlando, a third-year business student from Reading, Pennsylvania. He was 20 years old. We grieve alongside everyone who knew James and encourage all members of the Temple community to think of and pray for his loved ones.
