Bianca Roberson scholarship fund established

A scholarship fund is being established to honor the memory of 2017 Rustin High School graduate Bianca Roberson. The WCASD school board approved the scholarship at their July meeting.

18-year-old Bianca Roberson was in the prime of her life, just weeks away from heading off to college, when she was shot and killed during an alleged road rage incident.

Police say the gunman, who is now in police custody, shot Bianca in the head after the two were trying to merge into the same lane.

Bianca had dreamed of working for the FBI.

"She was also watching CSI, all the time, forensics, something about that. She wanted to be an FBI agent, she was going to school for criminal justice," her father, Rodney Roberson, told Good Day Philadelphia earlier this month.

"There is nothing we can do to bring her back but to honor her memory," said School Board President Chris McCune.

The Roberson family and a school committee will work together to establish criteria that recipients must meet in order to qualify for the scholarship. Checks can be made out to WCASD and mailed to Dr. Michael Marano, Rustin High School 1100 Shiloh Road, West Chester, PA 19382
