Boy starts bakery in hopes of buying new home for mom

FRESNO, CA- A California boy is literally cooking up a recipe for success.

Meet Jalen Bailey, the young baker who's trying to turn his love of baking it into a sweet business.

The eight-year-old bakes cookies by the dozens and banana nut bread by the loaf, thanks to some inspiration from his own mother.

According to his family, he's already rolling in the dough.

We also learned Jalen's drive for success runs in the family, and he plans to pay it back in a big way.

"I've had side businesses since I was 18 so I felt that it was something he needed to learn. If he wanted to be an entrepreneur when he grows up or it's something he wanted to do on the side," his mother explained.

"I wanted to save up a lot of money to get a house. I just want one that me and my mom can be happy in," Jalen added, "I said I wanted to be a millionaire. I thought that wasn't possible but now I think it is."

Jalen is reportedly taking his business to the next level, one peanut butter cookie at a time.
