Car-jacking ends in police chase in South Philadelphia

Authorities are investigating after an off-duty SEPTA employee's car was used in an armed robbery.

It happened early Sunday morning near 4th and Spring Garden streets.

According to the SEPTA spokesperson, an off-duty SEPTA employee was car-jacked.

They say the car was then used in an armed robbery in New Jersey, followed by a police pursuit in the surrounding New Jersey and Pennsylvania areas.

SEPTA says the car ended up crashing at 8th and Mercy Streets where the driver was apprehended by police.
