Caught on Camera: Robbery at 7-Eleven in Maple Shade
MAPLE SHADE, N.J. (FOX 29) - Police are investigating a robbery at a 7-Eleven in Maple Shade, New Jersey. Police say he may have robbed other stores as well.
"Put the money in the bag."Chilling surveillance video with audio shows a thief holding up the cashier of this 7-Eleven just off Route 73 in Maple Shade.
The heist went down around 3 a.m. Tuesday.
The video shows the man wearing a mask and dressed with a distinct hat and jacket. He waited for the right time to strike--ordering the cashier to do his bidding.
"I got out of bed and came here as fast as I could." Store owner Govind Kapoor went for his surveillance system, which shows the man milling around the aisles for about 15 minutes before the crime takes place.
The owner says he's just glad his worker is OK.
"He's doing well. He's at home. I told him if he wants tonight off he can have off tonight. So far he's handled it well. Better than I expected him to handle it," Kapoor explained.
