Child Found Unresponsive in Newark, DE Pool

A child is in extremely critical condition after being found unresponsive in a Newark, Delaware pool.

The incident occurred on the 900 block of Capitol Trail in the Delaphane Manor Community around 8:38 a.m. Wednesday.

Paramedics were called to the scene when a young child, approximately 4-years-old was found unresponsive in an in ground pool.

When paramedics arrived the child did not have a pulse and was not breaking.

Emergency crews say they attempted to resuscitate the boy, and transported him to Christiana Hospital where he is listed in extremely critical condition.

Delaware state police are investigating the incident.
