Colorado women operate business that finds missing pets

For friends and dog lovers Whitney Olson and Kristen Rollin, it all started by just doing the right thing.

"Somebody's animal goes lost or is missing or a stray is running the streets it just tugs at our heart strings and um... We're the people who stop."

The first dog Olson and Rollin found was Murphy.

He'd been missing for over a month.

"We kept hearing about this dog and we finally spotted him and we were able to comb back through Colorado Lost and Found Pets and figured out who he belonged to."

Reuniting dogs and owners was immensely gratifying to the girls, so they started up Missing Mutt Detectives.

"It kind of became clear to us that there was a need for something like this in our community."

Now, the Missing Mutt Detectives have been trying to catch a stray dog in Aurora. They've set up scent traps and food traps and, so far, the leery dog just won't get close enough to be caught.

But his image was caught on motion sensor cameras and he, or she... looks like this.

"He's not happy out there and he's not healthy out there and it's not a good situation for him."

They've invested more than money and time in their venture.

They've invested their hearts.
