DA: Infant found unresponsive in bathtub inside Chester County home
DEVON, Pa. (FOX 29) - Investigators say someone called 911 around 3 p.m. Wednesday and said a baby wasn't breathing in the bathtub inside a Chester County home.
Easttown Police and Chester County Detective units remained outside a home late Wednesday evening trying to determine what happened to an infant inside a home.
"We immediately responded out here. Police and EMTs responded and the child was totally unresponsive. They immediately started lifesaving measures and managed to get the child to start breathing again," said Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan.
Investigators taped off the home on Conestoga Road in the Devon Green community as they searched inside hoping to rule out anything criminal.
They pulled out items as they went inside, including a box of diapers that sat outside the door.
DA Hogan says the infant is alive and still in the hospital.
"Outside of that I have not observed any wounds but that is what we'll have a full medical examination for," he said.
He also said it's too early to say whether what happened is suspicious, accidental or criminal.
