Donald Trump remains silent on Eagles, congratulates Chiefs after championship wins

First the Sixers, now the President of the United States, it appears the Philadelphia Eagles are missing a couple of praises on their latest victory.

What they're saying:

On Sunday, Donald Trump congratulated the Kansas City Chiefs on their AFC Championship in a post on Truth Social.

"Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs. What a GREAT Team, Coach, Quarterback, and virtually everything else, including those fantastic FANS, that voted for me (MAGA!) in record numbers."

Trump even extended his congratulations to the Buffalo Bills for their "tremendous season."

However, the same can not be said for the Eagles, who have yet to be mentioned by the president days later.

Many are speculating that the snub could be in response to the Eagles' White House controversy after their 2017 Super Bowl win.

The backstory:

In 2018, the Eagles trip to the White House to celebrate their victory against the New England Patriots was ultimately canceled.

The controversy began when several players and officials decided not to attend, leaving just two players actually planning to make the trip to Washington.

Trump rescinded his invitation, tying the dispute to his criticism of players who kneeled during the national anthem:

"The Philadelphia Eagles are unable to come to the White House with their full team to be celebrated tomorrow. They disagree with their President because he insists that they proudly stand for the National Anthem, hand on heart, in honor of the great men and women of our military and the people of our country."
