Eagles playoffs: Green Bay Packer fans hold pep rally in Northern Liberties

The Green Bay Packers fan group "Packers Everywhere" hosted a free pep rally for fans in Philadelphia Saturday night, catching some Eagles fans off guard.

"There’s a lot of Packers fans here. I don’t know where they came from," said Austin Seal. "We were going to leave but as soon as we saw what was going on we knew someone had to represent. That’s what we do in Philadelphia. We stand strong, we overcome, especially against Packers fans, so we’re feeling good."

Despite the event, the Eagles' spirit was still soaring at Craft Hall in Northern Liberties.

We also met some couples who will be a house divided come Sunday. Michelle Honick is a Packers fan, and her boyfriend Collin Hotchkiss is an Eagles fan.

The NFC East champion, Eagles will host the Packers in Philadelphia next Sunday in a wild-card game.

"I always grew up a Packers fan and stuck with it. They won the Super Bowl the day after I was born, so that connection, it just stuck," said Honick.

"I’ve grown up a die-hard Eagles fan. As long as it’s not a Cowboys fan, I can deal with the Packers," said Hotchkiss. "That’s right, tomorrow we’re enemies just tomorrow though. If the Eagles win I think I’m sleeping on the couch for the night."

Jimmy and Joanal Vandervort are also rooting for opposite teams.

"I’ve been a Packers fan since I was, oh my God, seven or eight-years-old. Even my little sister is a Packers fan," said Joanal. "We’re watching at my parent’s house, so it’s neutral, and whoever wins has to drive home."

"I’m here to support the Packers," said Lipp. "I’m anxious to meet all of these Philly fans, Eagles fans."

"I just want the Packers to go all the way," said Beam. "We were looking forward to this game all year to the point we went to São Paulo in September."

Craft Hall said they are absolutely a Philadelphia sports bar and on Sunday they will be all about the Eagles. They just wanted to show a little hospitality to the visiting team the day before the game.
