Eagles Super Bowl: Chester County bakery sees soaring business as Eagles' treats fly off shelves
Eagles Super Bowl: Chester County bakery business soaring with Bird delights
The hype surrounding our Super Bowl Eagles at a fever-pitch and plenty of local businesses are having a hard time keeping up with the demand for all things Birds.
BERWYN, Pa. - A Berwyn bakery says it has never been busier in all of the years they have been open, due to the Eagles Super Bowl run.
The owner said their ovens have been running non-stop and they are turning out Eagles-themed cookies, cupcakes and more since the playoffs and will continue until the big game.
What we know:
Clay’s Bakery owner and Chief Decorator, Denise Bones, stated, "It was crazy the last Super Bowl but this is already gone over and beyond. This is nuts and awesome."
The bakery in Berwyn says it’s never been busier in its 35 years of business, thanks to the Eagles. The Birds punching their ticket to Super Bowl LIX is a big win for the family-owned and operated corner shop, known for its scrumptious sweets and attention to detail.
"The ovens will run pretty much run 24/7 and we will be here every hour. We are not sleeping because it really is going to be that busy and that much fun," Bones described the atmosphere inside the shop.
What they're saying:
Megan Withrow stopped in to buy Eagles cupcakes and some very cool cookies for an office pep rally and will be back first thing Saturday morning to get more for Super Bowl Sunday. She stated her purpose, saying, "I think I'm going for the first time slot to pick up and get in and out. We'll see. Even if it's mobbed. It's worth the wait."
Suzanne O’Connor and her son Jamison were also scoring some sweet treats, "We got a birthday cake with all the Eagles stuff on it, of course. What else did we get?" she asked her son.

"We got cookies of course," he replied.
"We are cheering for the Eagles, right?" she asked him.
"E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES! Yeah!" they both exclaimed.
Bones then said, "We are ready with thousands of cookies, cupcakes and cakes and anything else you'd like. We have more choices that we have in any category than anything we've done before this Super Bowl."
Big picture view:
Besides being super sweet for business, the staff at Clay's says they're flying high just seeing everyone in the community coming together.
"People are yelling Go Birds coming out our door every day, all the time, singing the Eagles chant. There's really nothing like this. There's truly nothing like this," Bones said.
