PHILADELPHIA (FOX 29) - UPDATE: Police have identified the deceased man found in Bustleton over the weekend as 60-year-old Gerald Fomalont.
------
Philadelphia Police are asking the public's assistance in locating an endangered missing man.
Police say 60-year-old Gerald Fomalont was last seen on the 9900 block of Bustleton Avenue on Jan. 30 at 6:30 a.m.
Fomalont is said to have diminished mental capacity and cerebral palsy, according to authorities.
Police say he was last seen leaving work at a vocational workshop on McNulty Road on Wednesday afternoon.
Friends of Fomalont say that he fell behind them during Wednesday's snow squall that produced white out conditions. Fomalont did not make it onto the bus and has not been seen since.
Fomalont's sister described Gerald as a man of routine, which hightens the family's concern for his well being.
"He is "Mr. Routine," he lives by his routine," said Linda Gaeman.
However, Gaeman says Fomalont's judgment and coordination are off. He's also been without his medication for more than 24 hours.
On Thursday, Police upped their search by using a helicopter, ground officers and K9 units. They scoured the woods near South Hampton Road and Roosevet Boulevard. Their search covered everwhere from hospitals to malls spanning from lower Bucks County to Philadelphia.
Fomalont is described as 5-feet-11 and 200 pounds. He has a light complexion, medium build, brown eyes, and black hair that is straight and ear length.
Hewas last seen wearing a black nylon jacket, tan pants and loafers.
Police ask anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Fomalont to contact police by calling 215-686-3153 or 911.
