Fight involving at least 20 students prompts Delaware high school to cancel classes

A fight involving at least 20 students has prompted a Delaware high school to cancel classes.

The News Journal reports that Glasgow High School canceled school Friday as a precautionary measure, according to a statement from Principal Harold "Butch" Ingram. The school went into a modified lockdown late Thursday morning because of the fight, and students were dismissed early.

The statement said school administrators, security personnel and the Delaware State Police were involved with containing the fight.

Despite the size of the fight, state police say there were no known injuries. State police say one student was taken into custody for pushing a trooper and refusing to comply with commands. The other students involved were released to parents.

The genesis of the altercation is unclear.
