Firefighter hurt battling Northeast Philly house fire
PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - A firefighter is injured and several people are without a home Sunday morning after a twin house went up in flames in Northeast Philadelphia.
The fire broke out around 12:45 a.m. on the 4400 block of Wingate Street.
Viewer Ken Keppol shared intense flame video with us. It shows the fire engulfing the two-story twin home.
Firefighters battled the fierce flames for about an hour before it was placed under control.
One firefighter was transported to Aria Torresdale Hospital for minor injuries. Three people and a dog were able to make it out of the home safely, but they won't be able to go back inside anytime soon.
Neighbors tell us they could feel the heat of the flames from their home, which sits several hundred feet away.
Investigators are now looking into the cause of this fire, FOX 29's Jenni Joyce reported.
