Folcroft officer shot in line-of-duty to return to force this week

Folcroft Police have reported via Twitter that Officer Christopher Dorman has been cleared to return to full duty, and will return to the force this week.

Dorman was shot seven times in late June, while responding to a call for drug activity. He was shot in the face, leg and torso, and was released from the hospital to a hero's welcome just four days later.

Officer Dorman spend several months visiting doctors and rehabbing with physical therapy, and had previously said he couldn't wait to be back on duty.

Donte Island, 33, is accused of shooting Dorman, and firing at a second officer, and has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and attempted murder.
