Heroic 5-year-old pulls his 2-year-old brother from crash

INSIDE EDITION- A brave 5-year-old boy pulled his little brother, 2, to safety after a crash that killed their father on Friday, Texas authorities said.

Police said the father was driving a tractor-trailer with his sons inside on Interstate 45 when he lost control and struck a guardrail and then a concrete pillar. The truck flipped over and the father was ejected and died on the scene.

His 5-year-old son, however, sprang into action and pulled his severely burned 2-year-old brother from the truck.

Dhaval Shah, who works nearby and saw the accident, told ABC that when he came outside he saw a little kid running around the truck that was on fire.

"The boy was ejected from the big rig, but went back and managed to pull his 2-year-old brother out of the truck," and official told KTLA. "He's a trooper. He was sitting down and talking to us, giving us everyone's name … He was asking about his father."

The boy's mother was reportedly driving ahead of them during the accident and didn't know what happened until later.

Police said both boys were transported to the hospital and are expected to be okay.
