Home invasion suspect in custody, school lock downs lifted

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Three Philadelphia Schools were placed in a lockdown as police searched for a home invasion suspect in West Philadelphia. The lockdown has since been lifted.

Police say officers were chasing the suspect on foot in the area of 40 th and Girard Streets.

The suspect was eventually taken into custody.

Philadelphia School District officials tell FOX 29 three schools in the area went into lockdown and police worked to apprehend the suspect
