Identical twins give birth on the same day

A pair of identical twin sisters now has even more in common after they gave birth on the same day.

Leah Rodgers gave birth to her son, Reid Joseph, in Colorado on the same day that her twin sister, Sarah Maruiz, gave birth to her baby girl, Samantha Lynne.

Although their due date ended up being four days apart, Rodgers said her and her sister did not plan their pregnancies together.

"I don't think you can plan it the way this all has turned out, even if we tried, even if we were offered a lot of money to try and do this," said Rodgers.

The twins themselves were born only 11 minutes apart, and although they were born on the same day the twins gave birth in different time zones.

"Reid was born at 1:18 a.m. Mountain Time and little Samantha Lynne was born at 1:18 Pacific Time," said Rodgers.

The twins plan to introduce their new bundles of joy when they see each other soon.
