Joy for owner as cat pulled from rubble days after quake

(STORYFUL) A cat was pulled from debris alive, five days after a devastating earthquake rocked central Italy, killing nearly 300 people.

Italy's National Animal Protection Agency, or Ente Nazionale Protezione Animali, has been working to rescue animals in several towns devastated by last week's earthquakes. On August 29, the ENPA posted to Facebook about a cat, Gigia, who had been pulled alive from rubble in the worst-hit part of Amatrice, where 231 people died.

The agency said the cat, though dehydrated, would make a recovery after being rescued by firefighters.
