Kensington Fire Injures Child, Displaces Family

A fire in Kensington injured a child and left a family homeless.

Crews were called to the 2000 block of West Tioga Street and found flames on the first and second floors of the rowhome.

The child was taken to St. Christopher's hospital for Children, but authorities say they were not seriously hurt.

The fire was placed under control within 20 minutes. The cause is not yet known.

The two adults and three children are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.
