Man Arrested For Child Pornography For the Second Time This Year

The Attorney General has announced the arrest of a Pennsylvania man on child pornography charges- and the same man was arrested for the same crime in January.

Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane announced the arrest of Joseph A. Sowers, 32, of Armstrong County, after an undercover online investigation traced the materials to his smartphone. Sowers was arrested as part of a traffic stop, where the offending materials were found.

Sowers had also been arrested January 29, in Montgomery County, also by the Child Predator Section. Sowers pled guilty in the January case, and was free while awaiting sentencing, with conditions that he refrain from accessing the Internet.

The state has charged Sowers with three counts of distribution of child pornography, 24 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.
