Man drowns while swimming with woman in Brandywine Creek: police
PHILADELPHIA - A man is dead after investigators say he was taken by a strong current while swimming in the Brandywine Creek with a woman on Sunday.
Sergio Ayala-Vilchis and the unnamed woman were swimming in the river after meeting at a club in Delaware the previous night, police said.

Investigators believe Sergio Ayala-Vilchis and a woman whom he met the previous night at a club in Delaware went for a swim in the Brandywine Creek on Sunday.
While they were in the middle of the creek, investigators say Ayala-Vilchis began to panic and was unable to swim in the water's current.
He was swept downstream and was later found by rescue crews a short distance away from where he and the woman had gone into the water.
The woman, who was not named by police, was able to safely escape the water.
