Man found dead on road with head trauma

PARKSIDE (WTXF) - Police responding to a call about a "hospital case" ended up finding a man, dead in the street, in Philadelphia's Parkside neighborhood.

It happened just after 1:30am Thursday in the 4900 block of W. Thompson Street.

Officers said they found an unresponsive 35-year-old man suffering from head trauma and scrapes on his elbows.

Medics pronounced him dead. His name has not been released.

Police are investigating the man's death and also a silver wrench officers found on the road, a short distance from the victim.
